comundo and Danske Bank.
September 5, 2024 – Copenhagen
comundo, which makes energy data collection and emissions calculations for properties easy, has entered a partnership with Denmark’s largest bank to help their real estate customers get easy access to automated energy data collection and CO2 emission calculations for their buildings. The aim is to offer customers a streamlined journey that supports their green transition.
“For many property owners, calculating CO2 emissions data is both an inconvenient and time-consuming task that involves chasing invoices from energy companies, identifying data points, and manual calculations. That’s why we created a plug-and-play solution that can provide access to real-time energy and emissions data from any kind of property. We integrate directly with energy sources and suppliers, making it easy and clear for property owners and businesses to easily access energy data from their buildings,” explains Linisha Palm, Chief Operating Officer at comundo.
The real estate sector accounts for 27% of global CO2 emissions. And at Danske Bank Group, it accounts for a large part of the bank's total loan portfolio. In line with their climate plan announced last year, they have set decarbonisation targets for a number of sectors, including commercial real estate (a reduction target of 55% by 2030) and comundo’s accurate energy data is a key part of helping them reach that goal.
“With comundo, we believe that we’ve found the best possible partner to strengthen our customers' competitiveness in terms of reporting and systematically working towards reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions in their properties. They match our Nordic footprint and understand the importance of making it easy for our customers to collect and get an overview of precise energy and emissions data from their properties,” saysChristina Graversen Krath, Head of Sustainability, Business Customers, at Danske Bank.
One of Europe's leading consulting firms in architecture and engineering, Sweco, is also part of the partnership. Using energy and emissions data from comundo, Sweco will offer Danske Bank customers a tailor-made action plan with recommendations for specific energy improvements.
At the final stage of the journey, Danske Bank is ready to provide advice on how the project can be financed and ensure access to the necessary financing, so the action plans can be turned into concrete energy improvements.
